About
Founded by Brielle Milano in 2024, Sense of Space is a placemaking and retail strategy consultancy. With over a decade of experience in real estate development, marketing, leasing, and activation, Brielle acts as a thought partner to landlords, developers, and civic agencies to position assets as destination experiences at the intersection of commerce and culture.
Brielle’s work is defined by a creative and intentional process– combining strategic planning and road mapping with hands on execution across leasing, marketing, and activations. Her expertise lies in understanding how a space should be experienced by people, and she works closely with partners to highlight the physical, cultural, and social identities that define each environment.
Throughout her career, Brielle has succeeded in aligning the commercial goals of landlords with the ethos of independent brands, ensuring that projects meet financial objectives while creating meaningful, community-rooted destinations.
Brielle began her career at CBRE, joining the Retail Brokerage team after graduating from the firm’s Wheel Program. She later joined Jamestown, where she led the redevelopment of the Creative Workshops– a 500,000 SF portfolio at Industry City– curating a community of artists, makers and small businesses across mixed-use spaces. There, she also launched The Makers Guild, an immersive second floor retail corridor that brought together over 20 artisans in a uniquely experiential format. Most recently, Brielle helped Tishman Speyer reimagine the retail and public realm at Rockefeller Center. As Senior Director of Retail Leasing and later Senior Director of Placemaking and Retail Partnerships, she infused The Center with new energy through curative leasing, partnerships, and place-based storytelling– crafting experiences across both traditional storefronts and underutilized, non-traditional built environments.
Since launching Sense of Space, Brielle has partnered with clients including the NYC Economic Development Corporation, the Runyon Group, and the MTA. Across all projects, her work centers on unlocking the full potential of a place to create vibrant ecosystems where people want to gather, linger and return.
